Another step towards the end of the world

The '80's. The hideous fashions, the often times equally crappy music. The subject of many a VH-1 nostalgia trip. Now, like any previous point in time it's ripe for stripping any meaning out of and repackaging into as sterile a form as possible (I'm looking at you, reggae for kids). Think I'm kidding, then check out this little mangling of intentionally geeky new-wave nostalgia. That's right, it's Devo, only saccharine and pointless. Personally, I would have gone with The Jam as anime characters or Echo and the Bunnymen in adorable anthropomorphic claymation animals for my New Wave abomination. Now, there are several Disney boycotts out there, and amazingly none of them (that I'm aware of ) stem from this. Fortunately, I have a cyanide tablet ready when they release a DVD of The Clash in puppet form (give it time).
